Copyright and publishing your work after DRS2008

If your work is included in the conference proceedings it will be published through our open-access proceedings website which uses the Open Conference Systems software. This means your paper will be freely available to scholars around the world and indexed to allow searching by academic search engines including Google Scholar. There is evidence that this approach ensures the widest readership for research publications.

The proceedings will be published under a Creative Commons licence which ensures that you retain ownership of your work but anybody can copy and share it in the published form. They may not adapt the work or republish it without your permission.

We encourage you to develop your work further and seek publication in a peer-reviewed journal. One of the roles of a conference like this is to bring researchers together with editors who may be looking for good potential contributions to a journal or book. Here is a list of some journals that are relevant to design, it is not complete and we welcome suggestions for additions.

You should note that journal editors are very unlikely to reproduce a conference paper in its original form. They will wish to see a much more developed publication which realises the potential identified in the conference paper.
