Conference Proceedings now publishedI am pleased to say that we have now completed archiving the online proceedings of the 2008 Design Research Society conference Undisciplined! The proceedings have been published in Sheffield Hallam University’s research archive and you can find them, along with some of the supporting conference information, athttp://digitalcommons.shu.ac.uk/drs2008/ Although this wiki and the conference site will still be available for the foreseeable future, the university's archive is a permanent location for the published conference proceedings. Each paper has a unique, permanent url and all abstracts and key words are fully searchable by search engines such as Google. Papers are listed alphabetically by each author’s name and can also be found chronologically by date, session and presentation track. You can click on the title of a paper to view details of author, abstract, key words and to download a copy of the full paper. Note for authors: Authors have already received an automatic notification that their paper has been submitted to the site. Please note that you do not need to have an account or log in to view your paper, which is what you may be asked to do if you follow the link in the automated email. The easiest way to access any paper is to go to http://digitalcommons.shu.ac.uk/drs2008/ and find it by browsing through the Author A-Z or by date / session. Please check your paper and let meknow as soon as possible if there are any problems regarding layout etc. If you have not received an email, please check that we have your up-to-date email address. Finally, if you wish to track how many people have searched and downloaded your paper, which you may find useful, you will need to create an author account. This should be quick and simple. Once you have logged in, click on My Account and then Reports. Sadly we have run out of T-shirts. *It's all Over!We had a wonderful conference, thanks to everybody who made it so successful.Particular thanks are due to the people who worked behind the scenes: Kirsty Christer (Sheffield Hallam Research Associate) who looked after all the detail, especially organising the refereeing and programme. Julie Turnbull and Jackie Leaver (Sheffield Hallam Design Graduates) who managed the conference support team of postgraduates who made the sessions run so smoothly. Julie also designed and produced the excellent and comprehensive signage and Jackie designed and made the unique conference badges. (They also completed their Masters Degrees, both getting distinctions, while working on the conference). The Postgraduate Team from Sheffield Hallam, University of Sheffield, University of Leeds, Northumbria University and Aston University who all worked hard and cheerfully for no reward other than taking part. Sheffield Hallam's Conference21 Team, who did an amazing job of organising all the arrangements including bookings, accomodation, technical support, catering, entertainment and providing a welcoming and friendly face when you needed one. * Post-conference mattersPlease contact Kirsty Christerif you did not receive your certificate of attendance - we can email or send it to you.A delegates list of names and email addresses is available to those who attended the conference - pleaseask Kirsty for a copy. editor login |
